At Elysian Law, we offer fixed fees for agreed stages of your matter to help reduce that stress. You’ll know what each stage covers and what it will cost, including GST, so you can focus on your next steps with greater confidence.

After your consultation, we’ll send you a welcome email with easy-to-follow next steps and your Cost Agreement.
The agreement sets out the scope of your entire matter, broken down into stages. It explains the work included in each stage, its fixed fee including GST, any exclusions and when payment is due.
Third-party costs, such as a barrister’s fees and court filing fees, are factored into your fixed fee at the outset where those services form part of the agreed scope. We work with a trusted team of experienced barristers who also offer fixed fees, helping you plan ahead with confidence.
You can review the agreement and ask questions before deciding to proceed. If your matter resolves before all stages are needed, you won’t be charged for the remaining stages.
Pay your deposit into the account specified in your Cost Agreement.
If you need a payment plan, we can arrange one at this stage at no additional fee. We’ll work with you to agree on an affordable payment schedule that takes your financial circumstances into account.
For eligible family law matters, legal funding through our partner, JustFund, may also be an option. JustFund is separate loan funding, subject to approval and its own costs and terms. We can discuss this with you and assist with the application process. Please see below.

At the conclusion of each stage, we’ll issue a bill for that completed stage and move on to the next stage if required.
If your matter resolves before all stages are needed, you won’t be charged for the remaining stages. If your matter resolves part way through a stage, we will calculate work done and refund you for work not completed.
If additional work becomes necessary outside the agreed scope, we’ll explain the proposed work and fees and seek your agreement before proceeding.
You can contact us to discuss ending your engagement. We’ll explain how your Cost Agreement applies to work already undertaken and any funds you have paid.
