Nicole Mackenzie is a Senior Solicitor at Elysian Law who practises in all areas of family law. She is also an NMAS-accredited mediator, helping separating families reach agreements without the cost and stress of a court battle.

Nicole handles complex parenting matters and property settlements of every size. Her work ranges from small asset pools to pools of $10 million or more involving multiple businesses, trusts and self-managed super funds.

She appears regularly at first returns, mentions, and interim and final hearings. She is also experienced at instructing counsel for trials and arbitrations.

Outside of court, Nicole drafts Binding Financial Agreements and binding child support agreements. As an accredited mediator, she understands how to find practical outcomes that work for both parties.

Before joining Elysian Law, Nicole managed a team of four solicitors and three paralegals at Genuine Legal. She is known for clear, upfront advice, often meeting with up to six new clients a day to explain their options and costs.

Before her legal career, Nicole worked with young people in out-of-home care. That experience gives her real empathy and a calm presence in difficult parenting matters, where the wellbeing of children is always the priority.

Nicole studied a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Tasmania in Hobart and the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom. She then completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Southern Queensland and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at QUT, and was admitted in October 2022.
